Gabriel Martinelli scored just two goals and set up another as a plotted Arsenal side turned to the design to thrash Standard Liege 4-0 in their Europa League Group F assembly.
Teenager Martinelli, a #6m signing from side Ituano during the summer, started the scoring with a great header after 13 minutes and then netted his second with a low, curling end only 3 minutes later, making it four objectives from two matches following his dual against Nottingham Forest at the Carabao Cup.
Joe Willock struck Arsenals third goal (22) following a shot from fellow academy graduate Reiss Nelson redirected into his path within the normal Liege box, together with Dani Ceballos finishing the scoring in the second half, poking Martinellis deft cross over the line for his first goal for the club (57).
Unai Emerys negative missed a collection of opportunities to extend their lead but the victory is just another step towards the Europa League knockout stages following the 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their opening group game.
